MEET OUR CO-FOUNDERS BURCU & KAMER
Melez mini Atelier was founded in November 2021 with the aim of sharing designs that celebrate the power of simplicity and detail with women who seek to reflect their unique light. Burcu Bulgurlu and Kamer Güliz, our two co-founders, bring together different generations and backgrounds to shape Melez’s designs. They are, in short, “the dreamer” and “the one who brings dreams to life.”
Getting to know Burcu, she is the creative spirit of Melez, “the dreamer.” Since childhood, she has had a deep passion for design, drawing inspiration from the women of everyday life and the streets of the city. This blend of dream and inspiration shapes Melez’s designs. She believes that originality and self-expression are hidden in the smallest details, bringing simplicity and elegance together in every piece.
Kamer Güliz, on the other hand, is “the one who brings these dreams to life.” With his vast knowledge rooted in generations of Grand Bazaar jewelry tradition, he manages every aspect of the production process. From meticulously selecting precious metals and stones to ensuring the highest quality, his expertise is our guide, and his workshop is our home.

Each piece at Melez is thoughtfully created with you in mind, ensuring that your order is as unique as you are. While some designs may be ready to ship on the day of your order, most of our pieces are made-to-order just for you. From the moment you place your order to when our signature burgundy box arrives at your doorstep, we stay connected with you every step of the way.
We use only 14k gold, ensuring both everyday wearability and the durability to be cherished across generations
14k gold consists of 58.5% pure gold, with the remaining portion made up of silver, copper, or other alloy metals. This blend imparts both durability and a resilient hardness to the gold, making it resistant to scratches and deformation during everyday wear. Since pure gold alone is too soft, its alloy with other metals makes 14k gold an ideal material for jewelry.
And of course, health always comes first—14k gold is hypoallergenic and offers a composition that is compatible with the skin, ensuring long-term comfort. We have never used, nor will we ever use, plating in our designs; each piece carries the elegance and durability of gold obtained directly from its natural and pure components. Quality and long-lasting wearability are always our priority.
In addition to our 14k gold, we use precious and semi-precious stones like diamonds, blue topaz, and sapphires in our designs. These stones add sparkle and carry unique meanings, giving each piece a personal touch that connects with the wearer

Choosing the right diamond involves understanding the 4Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight. While many believe that bigger is always better, it’s actually the quality of the cut that determines a diamond's brilliance. Additionally, diamonds don’t need to be completely flawless—slight imperfections are common and often undetectable to the naked eye. At Melez, we carefully select diamonds based on their balance of beauty and value, ensuring they complement our designs without overshadowing the overall aesthetic.

And then, our indispensables—vibrant semi-precious stones, each with its own captivating energy and charm!
Semi-precious stones such as blue topaz, sapphires, and amethysts are carefully selected and cut to enhance their natural beauty and energy. Much like diamonds, semi-precious stones have their own grading system, with key qualities like color, clarity, cut, and carat weight determining their value. For example, the clarity of a sapphire or the depth of color in a blue topaz can dramatically impact its appearance. Burcu brings these stones into her designs, focusing on their unique properties to create pieces that speak to the wearer’s individuality. Kamer, with his deep expertise, ensures that each stone is carefully chosen for its quality and authenticity, guiding its integration into each design.
Beyond their visual appeal, each semi-precious stone carries its own metaphysical significance. Blue topaz, known for its calming energy, is believed to promote clarity of thought and communication, making it a stone of expression and truth. Sapphires, with their rich blue hue, symbolize wisdom, nobility, and protection, often believed to bring peace and insight to the wearer. Peridot, with its vibrant green glow, is thought to bring abundance, renewal, and positive energy, helping to clear negative emotions and encourage growth.
